Darkoroth, is a DJ/producer originally from Aberdeen, South Dakota. However, his ambitions and work ethic has always been bigger than the small town he grew up in. From a very young age Dark has been inspired by all genres of music and it has been a driving passion of his ever since.
Growing up with a very musical older brother Dark was musically inspired since the age of four. His older brother was his original driving force to Dark's love of music. It began with his older brother "showing him the ropes" on guitar, a few albums, and Dark took over the reigns from there dabbling in guitar and percussion. Along with Dark's love for music he was always interested in technology and the avant garde. Which, in today's realm of music turned out to fit perfectly.
When it came time for him to figure out a career path the choice was between technology or music. However, he thought why not both. So, he studied both originally he studied music production himself with all resources he could while attending college for business and Information technology. When the internet after school just wasn't satisfying enough (or perhaps IT all day wasn't) Dark sought out mentors he studied in depth music theory with Jason Allen, was a part of Cymatics Academy since the first launch (and collapse), and has been a student under Ill.Gates in the Producer Dojo from 2017-2020. As well as attending every producer session at Lost Lands since year one learning directly from the biggest names in Electronic Music such as: Dion Timmer, Herobust, Subtronics, Protohype, Kompany, Ill.Gates, and KJ Sawka. When it came down to it though, the passion was what made his ultimate decision. He left IT behind to switch majors and colleges to further study his passion, audio production. Easily able to take his IT knowledge into the realm of music production.
Darkoroth is now a very ambitious DJ/music producer that has always loved every challenge he faced. He is currently fluent in Logic Pro X , Avid Pro Tools, and Ableton as well as several plug-ins for various DAWs and software synthesizers. Also dabbling in Reason now due to Herobust (iykyk). Darkoroth has been very active in the producer community establishing connections early with some of the greatest uprising minds in the field especially in the electronic music genres. Such as: Ill.Gates, Hexis, The Plurthlings, and many more within his producer/DJ friends and family. Due to all the influences Darkoroth has taken from his vast amount of networking and learning he is one to really think outside of the box and loves to push the envelope of every project, every set, and every genre. As well as drawing inspiration from heavy metal and the greatest of old brutal dubstep Darkoroth is determined to inspire and influence the dubstep scene to be the heaviest it can be!
